Panic: Origins, Insight, and Treatment
Published in Paperback by North Atlantic Books (15 June, 2002)
Authors: Brooke Warner and Peter A. Levine
Average review score:

Learning about Panic Attacks
This book is well organized and easy to use as a reference. Each chapter has a different author. The topics are varied and well presented. The text is easy to read. The chapters on the body approaches to working with panic were the most interesting for me. I also would point out that after some chapters a listing called "end notes" is included whch provides the reader with sources of further information, and in a few instances a way to contact the author of a given article.

Panic
This book was awesome. I have been looking all over for a well developed book on the topic of panic. Now I understand what my brother's panic attacks are all about and can hopefully find a way to cope with him!

Average review score:

A must have for people interested in Destination Weddings
As a Master Bridal Consultant with the Association of Bridal Consultants, I was very honored to be asked by Ms. Warner to contribute to this great book. I find that the accuracy with which she reported on Destination Weddings here in Eureka Springs, AR. was wonderful! She has truly covered some of the most beautiful wedding sites anywhere! With the right consultant/coordinator, a destination wedding can be one of the most beautiful and memorable events of a lifetime!

Want a head ache-free and economical wedding? Read this book
This book is great for those who are looking for an easier way to organize a wedding. I read most of Diane Warner's books on weddings. This one in particular gives you locations and "close intimate" stories of the bride and groom. I found it to be indispensable while organizing our wedding. Other very helpful books by the same author: "Beautiful Wedding/Decorations & Gifts on a Small Budget" "The Best Wedding Ever" "How to have a Big Wedding on a Small Budget"

The Portable Walt Whitman (Penguin Classics)
Published in Paperback by Penguin USA (Paper) (January, 2004)
Authors: Walt Whitman and Michael Warner
Average review score:

Lovingly written, compiled and edited.
This wonderful edition features a judicious selection of Walt Whitman's poetry and essays, edited by distinguished literary critic Mark Van Doren (who is perhaps now as well known for being the father of Ralph Fiennes' character in 'Quiz Show' as he is for his erudition).

Van Doren's preface, itself a famous piece of work, accounts for both the best and worst of Whitman's creations (Van Doren seemed to share Randall Jarrell's view that we can only appreciate the best of Whitman's poetry by acknowledging the depths of his worst work), and seeks to locate the personal Whitman within his verses. This essay alone is arguably worth the price of purchase.

What really sets this anthology apart from others like it, though, is the manner in which Van Doren takes his argument - that Whitman's work was always intimate, even though its themes were variously epical or universal - and applies it to his selection of poems. In inevitable inclusions such as 'Song of Myself', 'Mannahatta' and 'Crossing Brooklyn Ferry', we see Whitman the oracular poet, bringing into his egalitarian imagination the disparate bustle and brio of nineteenth-century New York and ordering them in verse. But when we read alongisde these poems 'Ashes of Soldiers', 'When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom'd', 'Native Moments' and 'Once I Pass'd through a Populous City', we begin to recognise the truth in Van Doren's thesis. Whitman's fear of death, his concern for the memories of the individual dead (as we see in 'As Toilsome I Wander'd Virginia's Woods'), and his nascently homerotic fascination with his own body (he writes in 'As Adam Early in the Morning', 'Touch me, touch the palm of your hand to my body as I pass,/ Be not afraid of my body'), complement those aspects of his poetry for which he is perhaps most famous: his mythical imagination, exclamatory verse, and descriptive catalogues of local people and places, which remind me of Homeric battle lists, except that they are predicated upon peace, not war.

Combined with his eloquent prose accounts of his activities as a nurse during the Civil War, his letters, and his thoughtful, incisive tributes to those he recognised as great poets (his critical work occasionally resembles the scrupulous excellence of Samuel Johnson), Whitman's poetry discloses subtle resonances that readers might otherwise be inclined to overlook, or forget. Long-time admirers of Whitman will be overjoyed by this classic edition of his work. Those who haven't yet experienced the joys of his language could do worse than look here for a comprehensive overview of his oeuvre.

Natural Poetry
Not having read the entire book yet, I am not eligible for evaluating it as a whole. However, the poems that I have read amaze me and they are the reason why I call Whitman my favourite poet.

First and foremost, Whitman follows Emerson's thread of thougth in his nature-loving poetry, but Whitman allows himself fewer limits: He not only writes in free verse, he also writes explicitly about his sexuality.

His power, though, lies in his ability to take everyday things and use them in what we might call catalogue rhetoric: In a way he is just making drafts without logics. This is his way of putting everyday America into a poem. And it works. We may wonder what his point is, but Whitman is about sensation, not logics, and the feeling you experience when you read 'Song of Myself', his masterpiece, is truly unique. It is the same feeling you have when you see a beautful forest or sunset. This is poetry at its best.

Benny, Jessie, Henry and Violet teach School?
Schoolhouse Mystery was good. When Benny's friend Max challenges him to go to a little town that he says has no mystery, they ask Elizabeth Gray, who owns the schoolhouse, she lets Benny, Jessie, Violet and Henry be school teachers. One day in school, Benny's student Isabelle tellls him about The Money Man, Mr. Fred Willet, he had traded antiques for money or nice and shiny things. In the schoolhouse there is a painting of George Washington, and on one of his buttons, instead of a button, there is a space. At the end, when John Carter and Benny discover that there is a secret place in the chimney, that Freddy Willet has 3 names and stole schoolroom books and library books. At the end, Freddy gets aressted. If you like mysteries, then this book is for you!

I reccomend highley

Sister Split
This book was a great story, I just love american girl books! Sister Split is about a girl named Ivy, and her parents are getting a divorce. Ivy and her sister are shocked. So from there parents anger, they say that they are getting seperated too. Ivy's sister moves out with her father, and Ivy stays with her mother. But when each child visits each other, they do horrible but funny things to each other. Ivy's only comfort is her bunny and her best friend. If you enjoy a great story, and you are a girl 11-13 you should read it!! It was excellent!

Sister Split
I loved this book! It really described the lives bewteen sisters and there divorced parents. It seemed like a true story, about what goes on in the lives divorced kids trying to solve there problems about the parents. It is about a girl named Ivy and her sister Lacy who mostly got along intill Lacy told Ivy "she hated when she was born." Then there life gets awful when there parents decide to split up. They both start to hate each other, but sercetly Ivy still loves her sister. And doesn't want her to live with her father while she is with her mother. But luckly Ivy has her best friend and her rabbit to keep her company. But soon after a lot of arguing bewteen them they solve there differences. It is a great and easy to read. I like it. It was funny about the fights they had and also gave me a great lesson to try to love your sister even if you have differences. I recommend it to anyone mostly a girl though. Try It and I am sure you will like it because I sure did!!

A must-have for anyone with daughters
Fun, practical tips and ideas for girls' parties -- any kind, not just slumber parties. The book is divided into themes, which include suggestions for invitations, decorations, food, games, etc. My daughters *love* the book, and we use it frequently. But wait -- you're wasting your time reading this.

Not Just for Sleepovers!
This is an amazing book that is filled with many great ideas. Even though it is geared towards sleepover parties, it has so many wonderful and creative ideas that can be used at any child's birthday party. The sleepover themes gave me many great ideas; I never realized that a sleepover party could be so much more, such as a glamour salon or a rock studio! This is definately a great book if you are planning a sleepover party and are looking for ideas to make your party a true success.

Bound for fun
The Snow Boun Mystery is actually my favorite Boxcar Children Book, I'm not kidding either! Once when I ran out of books to read and my Mother refused to take me to the librarie I read the whole book twice. Since I've been reading other childrens mysteries the book is harder for me to remember.Ifeel like reading it right now! some things I remember are that the Aldens Grandfather ,James Alden, has a friend who allows the Alden children his log cabin for some time. Also I remember a grocery store about a mile away and a nice family in which lives there , On the way to bring food to the Aldens one person gets stuck th others get to the Aldens and they get they get that person safe and sound where the family stays untll the storm wore off. There is also apart about finding letters in the attick, apart about Viiolet disapearing, and a part abouta closet near the fire place. I don't want to give all of it away but, it's just hard not to do.Thankyou for your time to read all about this fabulous book!
